I find that setting a reasonable hour for going to be like allowing for a least six hours of sleep is a good start. When the sleep comes on you should not struggle with it, just give in. Struggles usually result in one being tired from fighting. Waking up when the air is fresh, not yet polluted will give you a chance to breath which refreshes the system. Its a proven lifestyle for me and I am loving it.

First of all, thanks for writing. Second of all, how the hell did you find me?

I agree that there is good food here--as I said in the post, there are some great ones (Vietnamese-Asian being one of my favorites). The Taj, in my opinion is only so-so. We do really enjoy La Casa, Zio's, Dinker's, Ellada (the Dundee Locations), Em's, Mongolian Grill (in the Old Market) and a new Vietnamese place that opened up on Dodge near Home Run Pizza. Ahmad's is good for lunch, but too expensive for what you get for dinner.

But honestly, a few good restaurants doesn't compare to San Francisco or Berkeley (nor would I expect it to) -- and that's what I'm crying about. I'm just kinda spoiled.

There is a place we're really interested in trying: Le Cafe de Paris. It's supposed to be the highest rated restaurant in Omaha. Have you been?

Are you currently in Omaha?

Thanks, Lisa. I think it's good, too. So far we've gone to the zoo, went to see "the Polar Express" at a 3-d Imax theater, played board games with a friend of mine and his Little Brother, watched some of the original Transformers cartoons, made s'mores and went to an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. He seems to really enjoy our time together.

The children's museum and reading together, though--those are good ideas. particularly as it's gettin' snowy.

It's really great that you're doing this. It can make a huge difference to a child who may really need a positive male role model. I was a mentor, basically like a big sister, to a 9-year-old boy from Oakland for about a year when I was at Cal. He enjoyed movies (especially Star Wars), sports (playing football and watching it on TV), drawing (he drew football players), reading aloud together (highly recommended; maybe you can go to the library or bookstore), kid's museums (he loved the Lawrence Hall of Science), and going out to eat. We also did a lot of academic work/tutoring, which was actually fun, but I'm not sure if that's part of your gig. Even if you're not tutoring him, you may want to ask him to show you projects that he is proud of that he did for school.
